This 275,000 SF high school is the ultimate in technology and media retrieval. In each of the 86 classrooms are five student computer stations capable of Internet and mainframe access. Each classroom is independently supplied and controlled refrigerated air from roof mounted air conditioning units.

Unique features of the building include 635-foot sweeping radius walls, multiple ceiling elevations, elaborate and bright colors for ceilings, floors, and accent walls, two stories of classrooms with elevator and open bay stair access, four chemical top laboratories with accompanying instructional science rooms and separate experiment preparation rooms, and a large band room adjacent to a dedicated Orchestra room. Twin art classrooms, the dance room with wood flooring mirrored walls and boys and girls locker, shower and dressing facilities down the hall from the choir room round out the fine arts wing of the building.

As with most high schools, athletics is well equipped with a 21,000 sq. ft. gymnasium of three practice courts and a main court with motorized retractable bleacher seating on three sides of the main court. To accompany the main gymnasium are physical education locker rooms, gang restrooms, concessions and ticket sales. The fully sodded and irrigated football field with a nine-lane running track, triple and long jump, a major league sized fenced baseball field, a fenced softball field and six lighted tennis and basketball courts complete the site athletics package. With the $2 Million in buyout savings on the first phase of construction, the Owner released construction of the 35,000 sq. ft. locker, weight room, wresting and varsity sports complex, and additional classrooms to complete this $20 million school.

This school is one of five, varying from elementary, middle to high school, which has been built for the Socorro Independent School District.
