Hirsh Industries, manufacturers of metal filing cabinets, selected ECM International as their construction managers to assist them with the construction of a 300,000 s.f. facility in Mexicali, B.C., Mexico.

ECM provided a design phase and construction phase services such as specifications review, design review, bid evaluation, construction scheduling, construction inspection, quality control, permitting, payment review, and final inspection for the completion of this project.

One challenge that ECM faced while completing this project was the supervision of the installation of a crane that was almost the size of the building, and a railroad that was installed to move material from one side of the site to another. The property originally had a canal running through the perspective building location, which was later removed and relocated to the other end of the property.

ECM assisted Hirsh Industries in negotiating the many permits required for construction from the city, state, and federal entities.
