ECM was selected by Union Pacific Railroad to oversee the construction of a new 30,000 s.f. operations center in El Paso. This project was one of many during the railroad expansion program, and an on time schedule was vital for the success of this many faceted expansion. The operation center is heated and cooled with heat pump using the earth’s constant temperature for heat transfer. A state of the art communication system was also installed, linking not only the El Paso operation, but operations throughout the U.S. and Mexico. The parking and surrounding areas are monitored by high-resolution cameras that offer security, and the protection of private vehicles that may be parked for weeks at a time.

This project was started with a 2-day scheduling plan with the contractor, subcontractors, designer, and consultants. Because of ECM’s pre-planning and careful detailing of schedules for all trades the project was completed ahead of schedule, and with no change orders.
